Safe Environment Program

Creating a safe environment for children and young people is a diocesan priority.  We are dedicated to ensuring a culture of safe and respectful conduct in ALL ministries and enhancing and protecting the dignity and trust of all God’s people.

We hold all Church Clergy, Religious, and Lay Ministers to Christ-centered conduct.

Appropriate training is how everyone will best be able to recognize, respond, and report abuse, neglect, and /or sexual misconduct of all ages.

As a result of this priority, every employee and volunteer must:

  • Complete a Volunteer Ministry Application
  • Have a criminal background check
  • Complete online Safe Environment Training (18+ Adults only) or Attend a live Safe Environment Training Session (13-17 Teens only)



Online Adult Training Sessions


As of June 15, 2018, Safe Environment Training will transition from an online program to in-person training. Please contact Chris Stiles at for more information.



In order to complete the Online Safe Environment Training course, please complete the Volunteer Ministry Application and submit to Chris Stiles either via e-mail ( or by dropping it off at the Church office in an envelope to the attention of Chris Stiles.  The Volunteer Ministry Application must include full addresses for ALL 3 references.  Once the completed and signed application is received, Chris will contact you via e-mail with instructions for accessing the Online Safe Environment Training course.

You should receive an e-mail when it is time for you to renew your training.  If you have any questions about your current status, when your training expires, or issues with the Online Renewal process, please contact Chris Stiles at 817-421-1387 or

All classes will be held in the St Aloysius Gonzaga room (formerly room 5).
